How to Get Lure Grenades in ARC Raiders

Tired of being swarmed by those pesky Hornets in ARC Raiders? Don’t worry, it’s happened to the best of us. One minute you’re happily exploring, minding your own business, and then suddenly you’ve got the horrible whir of rotors buzzing in your ears, and you’re dive-rolling to save your life.

Lure grenades are a particularly handy tool if you don’t trust your aiming, or you’re running short on ammo. One grenade will get those annoying ARC machines off your back so you can make a hasty getaway.

Let’s have a look at how to get the blueprints for the Lure Grenade and just how to craft them.

Greasing Her Palms

Before you think about getting any of these grenades for yourself, no, Apollo doesn’t sell them, unfortunately. That would be too easy. You can loot them when you head topside, but that’s not a reliable way of building up a good stock.

Instead, you’ll want to do a few quests first. After completing the "A Better Use” quest from Tian Wen, accessed pretty early in the game, you’ll be offered the “ Greasing Her Palms” quest from Celeste.

This quest requires you to go to 3 separate maps and visit certain areas, shown in the above pictures. These can be done in any order. The areas are as follows:

The locked room in the Water Treatment Control Building on the Dam map. You will be given the keycard for the locked room, found on the central level. However, if someone has already opened it, you will still complete the objective.
Next, you’ll need to head to Buried City and head to the Space Travel Building, with the red border. Go up to floor 6, and you’ll notice one of the centre doors has a breach bar on. Breach the door, run around the area, and the objective will be complete.
Finally, the last objective is found on Spaceport. Here, you’ll need to head over to the Rocket Assembly building and wander around the thrusters found southwest of the main building. Once you’re in the middle, the final objective will be ticked off.

Return to Celeste, and she will give you the Lure Grenade Blueprint, along with 3 Electrical Components and 3 Speaker Components.

Crafting the Grenade

Luckily, the rewards that you’re given for the quest are the exact ingredients that you’ll need to craft a couple of these noisy ‘nades for yourself. Remember to learn the blueprint from the Misc area of your inventory.

First off, however, you’ll need to have upgraded your utility station to level 2. To do this, you’ll need:

2 Damaged Heatsinks
5 Electrical Components
6 Snitch Scanners

Snitch Scanners can be found by shooting down the little circular ARC machines that shine light down onto the ground. They won't damage you, but they will call in reinforcements if you let them get away.

Once you have the level 2 Utility Station, simply combine the Speaker Component and the Electrical Component, and you’ll have your very own Lure Grenade.

You can throw this grenade when roaming about the map, and it will stick to walls, luring any ARC machines and attracting their fire. Sometimes it’s best to lie low instead of going out guns blazing and getting yourself killed. In a pinch, these will save your life for sure.
