How to get paper in Pokémon Pokopia

2 hours ago 1

You'll need to get access to paper in Pokémon Pokopia, not just for crafting, but to submit as part of the "Rebuild the Huge Building!" important request in the Sparkling Skylands and the "Do the... Team Initiation Challenge?" request on the Withered Wasteland beach. This item is largely progression locked, as you'll actually need to be able to access the fourth area, the Sparkling Skylands, to make it.

Below we detail where to find paper and how to make it in Pokopia.

Just like lumber and bricks, you'll just need to hand a Pokémon a specific item to process it into paper. In this case, any Pokémon with the Recycle specialty can make paper from wastepaper. You'll get two paper for every wastepaper you hand over, and you can hand over 10 wastepaper at a time. Just like the other materials, it'll take some time for the Pokémon to process.

Here are a few Pokémon that can do this, ordered from easiest-to-hardest to find:

  • Trubbish, who you met in Bleak Beach already.
  • Koffing, who spawns from a "trash collection site" (the same habitat as Trubbish), but only in Palette Town.
  • Metang, who Tinkmaster recommends to make paper during the "Rebuild the Huge Building!" request via a "professor's apprentice program" habitat (one whiteboard, one table [any], one jumbled cords, and one laptop).
  • Porygon, who you can meet by making its "researcher's desk" habitat (two tables [any], one powered computer, and one science experiment).

There are more Pokémon with the Recycle specialty, but these are ones that should be accessible to you by the time you really need paper.

Pointedly, if you're having trouble finding the required furniture for Metang and Porygon's habitats, there are laptops in the abandoned buildings on the eastern islands and items for Porygon's habitat buried in sand directly north of the huge building.

Where to find wastepaper in Pokémon Pokopia

You can initially find wastepaper just sitting on the ground, scattered around the Sparkling Skylands, the same way you can find rocks and logs. If you've hoovered up all the wastepaper, then you can also break the colorful scrap cubes around the area, which have a chance to drop a few items, wastepaper included.

If you've exhausted your options — or maybe you don't want to break down all those cubes — you can also visit the Sky Dream Island using a Dragonite doll, which has wastepaper as one of its available resources.
