How to get the cloak on the train in Mina the Hollower

2 hours ago 1

The cloak on the train in Mina the Hollower seems tantalizingly out of reach, and while the route to it is closer than you may think, you'll still need to do a bit of prep. What you can't see from the open cabin is the train cloak is blocked off by two locked gates. However, it's worth tracking down the kears to remove those blocks, as the cloak grants you an excellent stat boost.

Below, we explain how to get the cloak on the train in Mina the Hollower and why it's worth grabbing.

You'll need two kears to remove barriers in the cabin with the cloak, so make sure you've got those on hand before hopping aboard the train. If you don't have any, you can purchase some at the Kear Institute in Ossex. The price increases with each one you purchase, though, so you might need to break out the bonestone reserves if you've already bought several.

The train has only one cabin with an open door, and while the cabin to the right of it looks sealed good and proper, there's a small, easy-to-miss crack at the bottom. You can burrow under it, so dig your way in.

Chat to the guy there if you want, and break the treasure chest at the back to get a golden skull worth 200 bones. Then, smash the candelabra in the bottom left corner to reveal another gap. Burrow into it to enter a little vent-like shaft that takes you under the open room and into the blocked room with the cloak.

Smash the crates if you want, and use your kears to unlock the blocks. You're free to grab the cloak after unlocking the second block. Make sure to bust up the chest in here too, though, as it contains a bonestone shard worth 500 bones.

The cloak is the Safety Shroud, a cloak that reduces all incoming damage by 25%. It's handy alone, but even more so if you pair it with the Twill Weave trinket, as the trinket raises your defense by one level. The combo makes for an effective way to stay safe if you've neglected to level up your defense, or if you're raising it alongside attack, then you'll take substantially less damage.
