How to Level Up Fast in Octopath Traveler 0

There is no denying that Octopath Traveler 0 is a long game that you will spend hours upon hours playing if you want to see the credits roll. Being an RPG, you will be required to fight through much of the game, making levels very important.

From the beginning of the game, you will be gaining levels, and the challenges will continuously get more difficult. With dozens of characters you can unlock, you will want a strong way to continuously get experience and level everyone up.

Let's break down how to level up fast in Octopath Traveler 0, so you don't need to worry about the difficult challenges ahead.

Rare Monsters Boost Experience

There are rare monsters hidden throughout Octopath Traveler 0 that will grant you large sums of experience if you manage to defeat them. These monsters are called Caits and Octopuffs.

Caits will typically appear on land in various locations, while Octopuffs are bound to the sea. Both of which, however, are very difficult to defeat, and typically need to be beaten within one turn, or they will run away.

Depending on the type of rare monster you come across, it will reward your party with at least 1,000 experience points. Some of these monsters will even reward upwards of 5,000 or 7,000 points, allowing you to gain a few levels by defeating them, even in the late game.

Boosting the rates at which these monsters spawn will help you level up fast and also get a lot more money.

Build the Training Grounds

The training grounds in town won't help you level up your current party, but it is a key building that you will want if you want to keep all of your standby party members strong.

The training grounds are built as part of the Rekindling the Flame storyline that requires you to rebuild Wishvale. Once you have the building completed, you can put a decent number of standby party members in it.

While a party member is on the training grounds, they will get experience from the fights your main party is involved in, allowing them to maintain a strong level.

Experience Boosting Items and Abilities

To go along with the other methods, you will always want to make sure your party has experience boosting items and abilities. For instance, the Brooch of Joy, obtained by Princess Mary, allows your party to receive additional EXP and JP.

Another item, which can be obtained earlier in the game, called the EXP Augmentor, can be found in the blue chest in Shepherd's Rock Pass.

Along with these items, certain abilities will increase the experience points gained from battle. Extra Experience Mastery allows you to get more experience from battle, but it is not cumulative, meaning you can't double the effect by having two characters with the same ability.

Two Scholars Strategy

This is a personal suggestion that I have found to be very effective for quickly defeating enemies in battle, allowing me to quickly level up. I recommend going to Theatropolis and recruiting Alexia the Scholar.

After this, choose the Scholar class for your character. The combined magic might of both characters being on your team is typically enough to wipe out groups of enemies you find while exploring, allowing you to level up quickly.

Farming for experience in areas that are slightly above your level with two Scholars can easily help you gain experience. I also recommend having two healers, as if the Scholars get damaged, you will want to regain their health.
