The Far Fields secret areas in Hollow Knight: Silksong are as easy to miss as they are hard to reach. There are four secret pathways in total: One in the northeast, two in the southeast, and one between the Bellway station and Pilgrim’s Rest. If you don't want to miss out on a lost flea, memory locket, Silkspeed Anklets, and more, don't skip them!
On top of finding the Seamstress, defeating the Fourth Chorus boss, and obtaining the Drifter’s Cloak, here’s how to unlock every secret area in the Far Fields region. Additionally, if you need more help finding them, check out our full interactive Silksong map.
Far Fields secret area #1 – Needolin door
To access the first secret area, you must obtain the Needolin by defeating the Widow boss north of Bellhart and completing the "The Threadspun Town" quest. In short, you must pass through Bellhart from the direction of Greymoor, then find your way through Shellwood. If you move east from the Sister Splinter boss location and drop down, you will reach Widow's lair.
When you've got Needolin, go to the southeastern corner of the Far Fields and use the Needolin next to the locked door to open it:

To obtain the Silkspeed Anklets, sprint across the pressure plates to the east and grab the item at the end of the path. To unlock another secret area (yes, a secret area within a secret area), you must sprint across the pressure plates again, but this time, trigger them all at the same time. To do so, equip the Silkspeed Anklets together with the Flea Brew, an item given to you after completing the "The Lost Fleas" quest and speaking with Grishkin after he relocates to Greymoor. After triggering the pressure plates, a hatch will open on the right side of the room. Drop down to collect the Rune Harp relic, which may be exchanged for rosaries in Relic Seeker Scrounge's house, in Bellhart.
Far Fields secret area #2 – Skull cave
In the southeast of the Far Fields, on the road to the Needolin door mentioned in the previous secret area description (same room, left side), you can find another hidden doorway. First, use the platforms above the lava pool and cross to the right using the rings hanging from the ceiling. You must've obtained the Clawline ability to jump from ring to ring. When you reach the upper right corner, enter the building shaped like a skull. A warning: You won't be able to turn back until you've completed the challenge inside this secret Far Fields area, so rest up and spend those rosaries before you proceed.

Drop all the way down, but be very careful; the bottom of the room is often laid with spikes, so be prepared to jump and dash to the left or right whenever necessary.
When you reach the bottom of the pit, hit the glowing lava stone and immediately cling to the wall. Following an explosion, the floor disappears and new platforms, as well as new enemies, will spawn. Once you've defeated them all (remember, falling into the lava is deadlier than getting hit by an enemy), the lava will start to rise. Jump up as quickly as you can to stay ahead!

Far Fields secret area #3 – Path to the Lost Flea
To unlock the pathway between the Far Fields Bellway station and Pilgrim’s Rest, hit the wall in the lower right of the Bellway station. Before unlocking this hidden path, the map will look like this:
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source images: Team Cherry via PolygonBeware that this pathway requires serious parkour skills. As it only leads to a single lost flea (part of the Lost Fleas quest), you may want to skip this area or come back later. Furthermore, you will need the Cling Grip ability, a.k.a. Hollow Knight: Silksong’s wall jump, at the very least, but it’ll be helpful to get the Faydown Cloak and Clawline Ancestral Arts as well. Our guide on every Silksong ability location will direct you to them. Finally, it's strongly recommended to get the Ascendant's Grip tool too, as it allows you to stick to walls indefinitely rather than slide down. You can buy this tool from Jubilana in Songclave after completing "The Wandering Merchant" quest.
If you’re feeling up to the task, hit the glowing stones to cause explosions and unlock new air vents. Fly upwards and go to the right, but be careful not to hit the red thorns! When the path splits in two, the road below leads back to the Seamstress’ house (thus creating a shortcut), while the road upward leads to the Lost Flea and Pilgrim’s Rest.
To reach the Lost Flea (again; this is one of the hardest parkour sections in the game, so be sure to rest and either spend or secure your rosaries), pogo over the red flower buds, leading to the right. After the third flower, ride the upward current for just a second (see picture, left side), fly across the red, thorny obstacle on the right, and dash into the larger current on the right.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source images: Team Cherry via PolygonStarting from the platform with the red ant, fly the currents again, dash left, pogo across the two red buds to the left, and drop down. From here, you must pogo and wall jump through the final stretch of thorny hills until you reach the exit in the top left corner (the lost flea awaits in the next room). More than any other part of the Far Fields secret area, this section becomes way easier if you have the Clawline ability, as you won't have to pogo across the final red flower (see picture, right side), which is very inconveniently situated in a small tunnel between thorns.
Far Fields secret area #4 – Act 3
Finally, you can unlock a large new area in the northeast after starting Hollow Knight: Silksong Act 3. To reach this area, you must collect the Silk Soar ability from the bottom of the Abyss region before making your way through the Hunter’s March. So, be sure to find your way through the darkness of the Abyss first, and collect Silk Soar from the Weaver statue in the bottom right.
After completing The Abyss, go to Hunter's March and fight your way through (toward the northeast) until you find the statue of the lady. This is where you must use the Silk Soar ability to jump up.
Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source images: Team Cherry via PolygonGo east (use the Clawline ability on the rings) and you will find yourself back in Hollow Knight: Silksong's Far Fields region and within the secret northeast area before long.

While you're exploring and completing quests like the "Rite of the Pollip" wish or "Silver Bells" request, make sure to spend some time progressing the main story as well, as you'll get some upgrades that make battles easier. After "The Threadspun Town" quest, for instance, you can upgrade your needle to deal more damage.
