Vampire Crawlers features the same cast as Vampire Survivors, but their powers and unlock methods are drastically different this time around. This is due to Vampire Crawlers being a turn-based first-person game, meaning that the familiar heroes have to use all-new fighting styles to survive in each dungeon.

Like in Vampire Survivors, the choice of playable character in Vampire Crawlers determines your starting weapon, though it doesn't take long to add to this roster. Each character is also depicted in a card, which can be played in battle to activate specific buffs for the party.

Poncle has announced the release date for Vampire Crawlers, the first-person Vampire Survivors spin-off, and it's launching on PC and consoles soon.

Yes, I said party, as it's possible to bring up to three characters on a dungeon run, though this has to be unlocked through the Power-Up shop, which costs money. This means the benefits of three characters can be applied during a run, which is extremely useful for the last two dungeons.

While a few Vampire Crawlers characters have their acquisition methods spelled out in the Unlocks tab, the details for the rest can be frustratingly vague. Fortunately, those who have finished the game have unlocked each hero and can break down the methods for the rest.

How to Unlock Every Vampire Crawlers Character

Antonio Belpaese is unlocked straight away and will be the first hero used by most characters, with Imelda not far behind. The entire unlockable roster for Vampire Crawlers is:

By far the most difficult character to unlock is Christine, as the Pentagram isn't unlocked until the player reaches level 40 on a run. This requires cranking up the Curse stat, which also makes the enemies tougher.

Gallo is also tough to beat, as he's at the end of a lengthy dungeon and has the usual boss monster tendency to take extra turns and pile on the damage. Those who want to finish the game will need to defeat Gallo to reach the last few dungeons, so he's not optional.

There are several empty spaces in the bar, suggesting that more Vampire Crawlers characters will be added in the future. The developer has confirmed that post-launch content is on the way, so don't worry about filling those spaces just yet.

While the numbers for the kill counts for some heroes might sound high, especially Krochi, you have to remember that Vampire Crawlers throws a LOT of monsters at the player. The monster-locked heroes, like Mortaccio, are actually among the easiest to unlock, with the item heroes (except for Christine) not far behind, as players will be using all the weapons in Vampire Crawlers extensively.
