The Patch 7.55 update in Final Fantasy 14 brings with it a variety of new content for players to dive into, as the Dawntrail expansion truly begins to wind down and the buzz around Evercold continues to (ironically) heat up. Along with updates to Phantom Weapons, the Solution 9 leg of the ever-going Hildibrand questline, and the finale of the Allied Society questline, the Occult Crescent has finally gotten its next major region for players to explore.

If you're eager to make your return to the Occult Crescent, here's how to unlock the North Horn region, including all quests involved, as well as some of the valuable rewards you can earn during your adventures in the area.

How to Unlock Occult Crescent: North Horn

The second major region of the Occult Crescent Field Operations content, North Horn, was added as part of the game's Patch 7.55 update. Before anything else, note that you'll need to have unlocked the South Horn region first, and completed its storyline up through the 'Mysteries Abide' blue quest.

Once that's situated, make your way to Tuliyollal and speak to the Expedition Messenger at (X:17.2, Y:11.8) to pick up the 'Occult Reunion' quest. You must have a Level 100 combat class (Disciple of War or Magic) equipped to do so. Follow the objectives of the quest to the Phantom Village, and speak to the blue-garbed Roegadyn named Ketenramm near the fountain at (X:6.1, Y:6.5).

Next, speak to Jeffroy, the Expedition Coordinator up the stairs to the north at (X:4.5, Y:6.5) to finish the quest and officially unlock the North Horn as an accessible area.

How to Travel to Occult Crescent: North Horn

To travel to the North Horn area of the Occult Crescent, simply speak to Jeffroy, the Expedition Coordinator at (X:4.5, Y:6.5) in the Phantom Village, and a list of available options will pop up for him. Select the 'North Horn' option near the top, and you'll then be placed into a queue for an instance of the region.

Once there, you can get yourself familiarized with the base camp and the NPCs there who can help you with various things. You'll also find Ketenramm, Archive, and Iris to continue the North Horn's storyline.

Other important NPCs to make note of here include the Expedition Supplier (X:39.0, Y:38.6) who offers basic supplies for sale and can repair your gear, along with the Expedition Trader nearby to the right, who can exchange extra Soul Shards you have on hand.

Meanwhile, the Expedition Antiquarian nearby to the right (X:39.5, Y:38.7) sells a diverse variety of rewards in exchange for Silver and Gold Obol tokens. You can pick up sets of ilvl 780 gear with inherent buffs specifically for the Occult Crescent, along with other rewards such as glamour sets, minions, furnishings, Soul Shards for unlocking more Phantom Jobs, Orchestion Rolls, and more.

Occult Crescent: North Horn Rewards

The Expedition Antiquarian at the Base Camp in the North Horn is your main hub for reward exchanges. As you earn Gold and Silver Obol tokens from your adventures in the region, you can exchange them with her for a variety of valuable rewards, some of which you can keep or turn around and sell on the Market Board for substantial gil.

While some of the rewards are more miscellaneous in nature (e.g. — Materia), there are certain ones you'll want to make note of.
