If you're unsure, here's how to unlock and reach Verso's Drafts in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, along with a general sense of what to expect from it.

The following guide contains considerable story-related spoilers for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's main story. If you've yet to complete the story, please read ahead with discretion.

Verso's Drafts is a unique, explorable area added to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 as part of its free 1.5.0 DLC update that was released the night of December 11, 2025. Dubbed the 'Thank You' update, it was intended as a heartfelt "merci" to the game's countless fans around the world after taking home numerous accolades at The Game Awards, including Game of the Year.

However, be aware that this area isn't available in-game right off the bat. To unlock Verso's Drafts in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you'll first need to reach Act 3 in the game's main story. By that point, you'll have unlocked Esquie's abilities that allow you to freely traverse the entire map, namely flying. However, you will also need Esquie's optional diving ability to access this area as well, as it's underwater.

Aside from that, there isn't a specific party level requirement for Verso's Drafts, but exploring it still isn't recommended until you're well into your endgame arc of leveling and polishing your best builds. The enemies in this area pack a good punch (especially on NG+), and the main boss at its peak is notoriously challenging. Essentially, despite its playful aesthetics, Verso's Drafts is on par with Renoir's Drafts in terms of difficulty. So expect that when diving in.

Verso's Drafts is located near the southern edge of the Continent map (while Renoir's Drafts is far to the north near Visage Island). It'll be directly east of Lumière, and its icon will already be indicated on the map if you have the 1.5.0 update downloaded (seen above).

As you may have predicted, the entrance to Verso's Drafts is quite similar to Renoir's Drafts in that you'll find it just below the surface of the water. As mentioned before, along with his flying ability, you'll also need Esquie's diving ability to access this area.

However, while Renoir's Drafts' entrance is a bit more indistinct, Verso's Drafts' entrance stands out far more in comparison, thanks to the playful decor that surrounds it. Fly Esquie up close to its underwater entrance, where the traditional swirling portal is located, and interact with it when the prompt appears.

From there, you'll be sent directly into Verso's Drafts, and a vibrant scenic route will take you to its main area that's full of celebratory sights and plenty of hidden treasures and challenges to take on.
