Free Play Days for Xbox Game Pass subscribers return this weekend. Starting Jan. 15 and lasting through Monday, EA Sports FC 26 will be playable for free for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential subscribers.

Xbox even recruited former German footballer Toni Kroos for a video announcing the free weekend.

The latest entry in EA's long-running soccer series (formerly known as FIFA), EA Sports FC 26 is filled with your favorite players and teams: It includes over 20,000 licensed players from over 750 national teams and local clubs competing from over 35 leagues. Test your skills in Football Ultimate Team, where you'll compete in Live Events, Tournaments, and more. Player Archetypes inspired by the greats will allow you to create use new classes for your custom player in Career mode and be the best you can be on the pitch.

EA Sports FC 26 received pretty positive reviews when it launched in September 2025, holding a 77 Metascore on Metacritic. However, its user score is 2.9, with players criticizing the abundance of bugs and microtransactions in FC 26 (the latter of which have plagued sports games for years).
