Hytale, the long-awaited and highly anticipated survival crafting game that was canceled until very recently, finally released on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Hypixel Studios, the devs behind the project eight years in the making, are offering $25,000 to players who submit bugs and security vulnerabilities.
Of course, this depends on the severity of the bug. You're not going to net that much cash just for reporting a janky animation or visual glitch; in fact, "game exploits or cheats that do not affect server security" are considered "explicitly out of scope and will not qualify for a bounty."
You can read the full list of criteria on the Hytale security page, which also includes how to submit reports, how they should be structured, the sort of bugs they are looking for, and more. Unfortunately, you must be 18 or older to collect a bounty. If your submission is a duplicate of one the team has already received, it'll be acknowledged, but will not receive a reward.
If you find an authentication or client/server exploit, one of the devs explains that you may even earn more than $25,000 for your troubles. These are likely vulnerabilities that rank at the critical severity level, such as unauthenticated RCEs, mass data breaches, and full account takeovers.
Not sure what Hytale is? Our guide explains everything you need to know and why it's being dubbed the latest "Minecraft killer."
