The highly anticipated block-based sandbox game, Hytale, has officially launched into early access just two months after being reacquired by the original team.

Hytale was cancelled in June 2025 by Riot Games, but indie developers, Hypixel Studios, have rallied around the support of their fans and revived the project.

Available now for just $19.99 USD, Hytale is off to a great start as over 400,000 Twitch viewers are watching the action unfold, and the developers can finally breathe a well-deserved sigh of relief: "This happened because the community remained strong and worked together to create the #savehytale movement, which ultimately convinced the original founders to return and revive Hytale."

Hypixel Studios have been transparent about the current state of the game, making sure players are aware that many features are missing and the game as a whole is still unpolished—but there's a good reason for that.

According to their latest blog post, the team has taken a 4+ year-old build of the game and reworked it from the ground up to create a playable version. The Hytale team explained they have "merged hundreds of branches, fixed core systems such as camera, movement, combat, crafting, building, audio, and rendering, squashed thousands of bugs, and added numerous new features."

Hytale is not currently available on Steam and can be downloaded from the official Hytale site. Hypixel Studios has expressed that they plan to release updates and patches frequently in the next few months as community feedback pours in and helps Hytale reach its full potential.

The exploration mode will allow players to craft items and equipment, build a home, and explore an infinite procedurially generated world full of diverse biomes, structures, and creatures.
