Forza Horizon 6 is one of the best-looking open-world games I’ve played this year. (And one of 2026’s best games so far.) Its digital recreation of Japan and Tokyo is incredibly detailed, realistic, and gorgeous. But hidden mostly out of view of the player is a low-poly, barely textured, blank-faced man who operates some of the trains found in the game. And I love him.
Over on the Forza Horizon subreddit, user This-Clue-5014 shared an image of the low-poly train driver that appears in Horizon 6. The open-world racer’s drone and photo mode let you fully and freely explore the entirety of Horizon 6, including bits that the devs likely didn’t want players to look at too closely. For example, the low-poly train driver.
Or perhaps you want to meet his brother, low-poly stunt plane pilot.
Hey, at least these two retro-looking characters have arms and hands. That wasn’t the case for the low-poly train driver in Forza Horizon 5.
And yes, these PS1 rejects have been appearing in Forza games for a bit now. I truly feel bad for the train driver in Horizon 5, as he not only has no hands or feet, but someone has sharpened the ends of his limbs into deadly weapons. Ouch. Then again, he does seem to have a face, with eyes and a mouth. The train driver and pilot in Horizon 6 aren’t afforded such luxuries.
I truly do love that hidden in some of the best-looking video games ever made are all of these low-poly characters. Just PS1-looking people living inside the incredibly detailed worlds of AAA games like Forza Horizon and Spider-Man. Maybe they can all get together and hang out. The best part? They could all meet up and party together on any platform released in the last 20 years without destroying the frame rate.
