If you're plugged into the highly emotional side of the modern indie music scene, then you probably know Phoebe Bridgers, who has become a bit of an icon in recent years after massive success from albums "Stranger in the Alps" and "Punisher." Or perhaps you know her from the indie women supergroup, boygenuis, featuring fellow incredible artists Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus.
People of Note Review
People of Note is bursting with love for both music and RPGs.
It's been a long six years since Bridgers' last album, and if you're a fan like me, it's also been exciting in 2026 to see Phoebe finally gearing up for a new release. For the section of us that crossover between fans of her music and also being gamers, today was particularly cool.
Just revealed on her social media (I saw it in her Instagram story), Bridgers has released an indie game that fans can hop in and try out right now, created by SounTrepper on itch.io.
Bridgers Launches Cute Endless Runner
Simply titled "Lost Boys" after the new single Bridgers recently dropped from the upcoming album, the game is an endless runner-type in which you control Phoebe on the back of a motorcycle with a knight, avoiding goblins and collecting coins in order to make it as far as possible before losing three hit points.
It's simple, sure, but it's also pretty adorable, and ties in wonderfully to the recently released music video for the song as well. Of course, it also comes along with a lovely 8-bit/chiptune rendition of Lost Boys to accompany you as you shoot for a high score. It's playable on both Mobile and Desktop, but after trying both, I'd highly recommend a keyboard for smoother controls.
You can move left and right, jump, and powerslide to avoid angry goblins, walls of fire, and fallen logs in order to collect as many "PB"-branded coins along the way. There are also powerups to collect and leverage, like an invincibility star, a magnet to attract coins, and a 2x multiplier.
If you need any tips, well... I'm currently ranked #4 in the world at the time of sitting down to write this article!
The game gets faster and faster as you go in true endless runner fashion, but resets in speed whenever you take a hit. Suffer damage three times, and your run is over, which then allows you to submit your name and score on the leaderboard.
Once you get going fast enough, instead of dodging left and right to dodge the goblins, you can simply jump over them. This can absolutely allow you to survive much longer than regular dodging.
The New Album Lead-Up Has Been A Trip
If you haven't been paying close attention, the lead-up to the reveal of Phoebe Bridgers' new album, Lost Weekend, has been amazing. Over the last many weeks, Bridgers was just showing up in random places across the country for pop-up shows with no notice whatsoever. Notably, the shows also banned all electronics, including cell phones, to ensure no footage or audio from the events leaked.
I was able to attend one of these events in Bloomington, Indiana, myself, and it was one of the most memorable concerts of my life, with Bridgers playing stripped-down versions of fan favorites alongside (the also amazing) Christian Lee Hutson, as well as a handful of new songs that will be on Lost Weekend once it releases on August 14.
This secret pop-up tour culminated with a surprise show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with tickets costing a whopping $1 each. Shortly after this, the album was revealed, and Lost Boys and its music video came out as the first single. Now, with the surprise drop of this cool video game tie-in, it will be fun to see what else Bridgers has in store leading up to the full album release.
