It Sure Sounds Like A Luma Drops An F-Bomb In The Mario Galaxy Movie

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is, according to defenders on the internet, a children’s movie. So I’m sure you can imagine why parents are clutching their pearls after mishearing one line in the movie in which it sounds a lot like the yellow Luma, the little star baby boy who has never done anything wrong, is dropping an F-bomb.

why did that Luma say fuck

I watched The Super Mario Galaxy Movie last night.

I’m 99% sure the Yellow Luma said the F-word. pic.twitter.com/nBPLY3xxyX

He doesn’t actually say “fuck,” to be clear, but looking back at the clip, I can absolutely hear where folks are coming from. Even Kotaku’s own Ethan Gach said he did a double take when seeing the movie and the little guy seemed to drop a top-tier cuss. The actual line is “Princess Peach, I finally found you,” but Luma’s voice hitches a little while saying “finally,” so it kinda sounds like he’s saying “fuckingly.” See for yourself:

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is pretty safe for the little ones. It doesn’t even have much of what you might consider crude humor, so I can understand why parents might be shocked if they thought, even for a brief moment, that a character was swearing. Having grown up in the conservative rural south, I absolutely would have gotten yanked out of a theater by my folks if they misheard a character saying something like this. But rest assured, parents; Luma may be tired after running for his life to find Peach, but even fatigue will not turn this little angel into a potty mouth.
