Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 episode 7, “Tokyo Colony No. 1,” officially sees Yuji and Megumi enter the Culling Game. The mission to recruit Kinji Hakiri has been completed. Now it’s time to participate in the tournament that sees 1000 sorcerers pitted against each other for survival as a means to further Kenjaku’s master plan for sorcerer supremacy. But the battle royale is already in motion, with a ninth rule added by a sorcerer who was able to gain 100 points. This rule forces Yuji and Megumi to revisit their plan to end the tournament and save Megumi’s sister, Tsumiki, from participating.

After recruiting Hakiri, everyone decides who’s heading to which colony. But suddenly, they’re informed by tournament liaison Kogane that a participant in the Culling Game has added a new rule. This ninth rule allows players to access information about other players, such as their name, point count, number of rules added, and current colony. They also learn that Kogane is Yuji's personal liaison, even though Yuji has already been deemed a participant, despite not yet entering a colony.

Yuji and Megumi use the newly added rule to identify who implemented it and discover that Hajime Kashimo initially had 200 points, meaning he’s already killed at least 40 people. Determined to clear the Culling Game without taking lives, Megumi proposes persuading a player with 100 points to add another rule. This new rule would allow players to transfer points, preventing anyone from dying after 19 days of inactivity, as outlined in Rule 8. Their end goal is to introduce a rule that allows players to use their points to exit the Culling Game altogether.

To avoid violating the rule that protects the game’s continuation, Megumi is even prepared to include a condition appointing a replacement player in his stead. The only two players they can approach to add a rule are Hajime Kashimo (who just added a rule) and Hiromi Higuruma. However, their top priority is still searching for Hana Kurusu, who is participating in the Culling Game, and uses her ability to break the Prison Realm’s seal and free Gojo. However, once the plan is made and Yuji and Megumi make their way to the episode’s titular colony, they are immediately split up upon arrival.

An unspoken rule in the Culling Game is that once a player enters a barrier, they're randomly transported to one of nine designated locations. Yuji is already a player, which is why he suddenly falls from the sky when he arrives. The reason why this wasn’t expressed as a rule in the battle royale is that it is a rule of the barrier itself.

We’re only at the beginning of Tokyo Colony No. 1, and the Culling Game is already shifting under our feet. With new rules in play and the arc finally spelling out who Yuji’s parents are — and what that revelation really means — the chaos is only getting started.
