The Pokémon Company might finally be making old-school fans happy, as new rumors are hinting that classic Pokémon games are finally coming to Nintendo Switch, though not in the form fans might expect.

Fans who subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online receive access to classic titles from Nintendo's history. The biggest omission by a wide margin is the mainline Pokémon games. While some spin-off titles have appeared, like Pokémon Puzzle League, none of the beloved RPG entries have appeared.

Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen Rumored For Nintendo Switch

9 All-Killer, No-Filler JRPGs - Pokémon FireRed

The leaks claim that Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen are coming to Nintendo Switch (and presumably, the Switch 2), as paid releases. Notably, they won't be freebies for Nintendo Switch Online or Expansion Pack subscribers.

Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen are remakes of Pokémon Red & Blue, with a ton of improvements, including the addition of Dark and Steel-type Pokémon

It's also claimed that these versions of Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen will connect to Pokémon Home. This will allow players to pull Pokémon from these older games into future generations.

Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen are remakes of Pokémon Red & Blue, with a ton of improvements, including the addition of Dark and Steel-type Pokémon. They also added a post-game with the Sevii Islands, as well as giving Charmander some new low-level moves that make it easier to survive the early game.

If these leaks are correct, then it's surprising that The Pokémon Company isn't starting with Pokémon Red & Blue. Fans will still be pleased to experience these classic games in modern form, especially while waiting for the Gen 10 titles.
