Kingdom Come: Deliverance board game announced by Czech Games

The adaptation is being handled by two celebrated designers

Video game adaptations are just as hot in the world of tabletop gaming as they are in Hollywood, with Elden Ring, Slay the Spire, and Final Fantasy 7 among the titles that have recently made the transition to physical board game. Another exciting adaptation was announced on Wednesday by Czech Games, which is publishing an epic board game based on Warhorse Studio’s role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game is up for pre-order now, with an expected ship date in Q1 2027. First prototype images of Czech Game's adaptation are available below.

Adaptations vary wildly in quality based on how well designers are able to translate solo video games into multiplayer board games with mechanics that players will have to manually track. Too many wind up just trying to squeeze cash from devoted fans by focusing on impressive art or miniatures rather than a gameplay experience that will have any crossover appeal. But Czech Games is proving it’s taking the assignment very seriously by tapping two star designers. Tomáš Holek created the strategy game SETI, which won one of the top prizes at the SPIEL Essen 2025 board game fair, while Vlaada Chvátil previously received Essen’s game of the year award in 2016 for his hit party game Codenames and designed the 2006 classic civilization-building game Through the Ages.

Set in Medieval Bohemia, Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game has players start as commoners and choose their own path to making their mark on the world. During setup, you’ll choose between major storylines for the three cities you’ll visit and can influence how those arcs progress based on your approach to problems. The game also offers numerous side quests you can do to gain resources and experience to improve your character. The goal is to emulate the feel of an open world video game while making each playthrough different.

Mechanically, the game involves building a deck to perform skill tests, with an emphasis on player choice as you pick out your equipment and decide what to focus on from a list of skills including hunting, fighting, and stealing. Like SETI or Through the Ages, this is a game you’re going to need to carve out a whole day to play. Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game is expected to take between 90 minutes for a solo game to six hours if you have four players. It’s also very pricey, at $199.99 (€149.99). But hopefully it’ll provide an epic experience worth that commitment.
