It's also the Sega Mega Drive

Sega and The Lego Group are teaming up for a Lego recreation of Sega's 16-bit console, the Sega Genesis. Lego's latest "ode to an old-school gaming icon" will come in two flavors, letting retro game enthusiasts build either the North American Sega Genesis or the Sega Mega Drive released internationally. The new Lego set also includes a hidden homage to Sonic the Hedgehog.
The Lego Sega Genesis Console is a 479-piece set that includes two detachable three-button controllers, a game cartridge that can be taken out of the console, plus sticker decorations and a Sonic the Hedgehog portrait as an Easter egg, according to the product's official listing.
In a particularly nice touch, the packaging for the Lego Sega Genesis Console is retro-coded as well. The box is scuffed and worn, as if it were a Genesis you picked up off of eBay.
Sega and Lego have previously collaborated on Sonic the Hedgehog Lego sets, including one that recreated the iconic Green Hill Zone level in brick form. Lego later released more elaborate Sonic the Hedgehog sets featuring Tails, Amy Rose, and Dr. Robotnik. In 2025, Lego released a set based on the Sega Genesis' original three-button controller. The Lego Sega Genesis Controller set included an abstract mini-recreation of Green Hill Zone.
Lego has a strong history of turning classic video game consoles into Lego sets. The company has previously released Lego versions of the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy, as well as brick-based versions of the Atari 2600 and a Pac-Man arcade cabinet. Lego is rumored to have a Lego PlayStation coming later this year.
The Lego Sega Genesis Console (#40926) will be released June 1. The set costs $39.99 and is available for pre-order through Lego.com.
