'Line in the Sand' quest walkthrough in Arc Raiders

Despite the new map in Arc Raiders, the "Line in the Sand" quest takes place on good ol' Buried City, the smallest map in the game. This time, on behalf of Celeste, you need to find out why a train from Stella Montis never reached Marano Station. This quest has possibly some of the vaguest objectives in all of Arc Raiders though, so knowing where to go is a real challenge.

'Line in the Sand' quest steps in Arc Raiders

Here are all four quest steps for "Line in the Sand" in Arc Raiders. You must complete the objective prior to unlock the next, so these must be done in order:

1. Find out why the train never reached Marano Station.
2. Find out who orchestrated the robbery.
3. Find out where the thruster valves were stashed.
4. Search the basement of the merchant's nearby apartment.

Where to find the train that never reached Marano Station

Your immediate thought may be to go to Marano Station, but the clue here is that the train didn't arrive, so from Marano Station, follow the tracks south. The specific train you're looking for is derailed, mostly buried in sand, in the central spot between the four locations of Warehouse, Maintenance Depot, Grandioso Apartments, and Piazza Roma.

When you approach, you don't need to interact with anything; your objective should automatically update to the next step.

Where to find out who orchestrated the robbery

Next up, you need to find out who orchestrated the robbery, which is incredibly vague and gives no indication as to where you need to go. It isn't far, thankfully: northeast of the train is a small tower, at the end of a wall, a stone's throw west of Piazza Roma.

Climb into the tower and interact with the prompt to search for clues. This should give you the Marano Market Business Card item, which gives you a clue as to where to head next.

Where to find out where the thruster valves were stashed

The thing is, where is Marano Market? No such location exists by that name on the map. However, if you zoom in on the in-game map and look northeast of the hospital, you will find Market Ruins. Head over here and as soon as you approach the outside of the building — the same one with the raider hatch at its north side — your objective will update again.

Where to search the basement of the merchant's nearby apartment

Head northeast again from the Market Ruins to find an eastern building with little of note, except for a zipline descending into the basement. This is where you want to head, north of the Dune's End location on the map.

In the basement, you'll find a prompt to take a photo. Do this and congratulations, the quest is complete! Head back to Celeste to reap the sweet rewards, and if you still have the business card in your inventory, you're safe to sell it.
