In this series of dangerous, and some would say highly illegal, party games you will have to use every trick in the book to survive. Play through classic party game formats and new twists on the genre for sessions of fun, screaming, and horror. Machine Party is genuinely a fun game that crosses the bar of a “friend-slop” game because it feels actually well developed. The music is great, the graphics are stylish and gritty, and the gameplay of Machine Party is simple yet fun. It’s cheaper than a bag of Doritos and easy to just pick up and play with friends any time!

That being said (this is on launch), it does have its issues, including very little cooldown on pushing, a confusing push range, weird matchmaking, and no option for open public lobbies (there may be reasons for this). There also aren’t many minigames or customization options at the time of this review (though future updates may change that). Other than that, it’s a super fun and awesome game that’s easy to pick up and play, and is highly recommended to anyone looking for a deadly Mario Party-like game. Incredibly fun game.

It’s literally Mario Party but with much darker games and style. Mike Klubnika knows the ball. However, it would be nice if minigames could be randomized, which will likely be the case in future updates. It’s also annoying that there’s no match browser on release. Players familiar with Buckshot Roulette probably know it was originally intended as a single-player indie game, with multiplayer added later at Machine Party.

It had the same issue, lacking a matchmaking browser and requiring manual lobby codes from strangers on the Discord server. Here we are with a game specifically designed as a multiplayer experience, yet it still doesn’t have matchmaking and requires manual hosting and joining. Mike will probably add it later, but it’s still disappointing. Machine Party isn’t even in Early Access—it’s already a full release with future updates planned.

There’s no gameplay outside the minigames, and the base game mode just makes players go through all of them until they’ve been beaten. There’s nothing to unlock or progress toward, and the few cosmetics that exist are all unlocked from the start.
Even though it only released yesterday, many technical issues are already present. The game crashes a lot; sometimes starting a game or having someone join mid-match causes it to freeze on a black screen; sometimes winning a minigame awards no score at all.
