It's a big year for the Punisher, as Jon Bernthal returns to the role of Frank Castle not once, but twice in 2026. Ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day's July release, which will feature the Punisher and Spider-Man teaming up — maybe? — everyone's favorite Marvel vigilante will return in a Marvel Television special presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill.
The first trailer for The Punisher: One Last Kill was released on Thursday, showing a clearly unwell Frank Castle unleashing his brand of murderous justice on the chaotic, crime-ridden streets of New York. The Punisher isn't pulling any punches in his Disney Plus one-shot; expect plenty of bullet wounds, blown-out brain pans, baseball bat beat-downs, and bodies tossed from tall buildings, courtesy of a clearly disturbed Frank in the special presentation.
According to a brief synopsis of The Punisher: One Last Kill from Marvel, Frank "searches for meaning beyond revenge, when an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight."
The Punisher: One Last Kill is executive produced by Jon Bernthal and directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who co-wrote the special with Bernthal. Jason R. Moore co-stars as Curtis Hoyle, a close friend of Frank's and a former U.S. Navy Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC). Hoyle was previously featured in Netflix' Marvel Television series The Punisher.
Marvel also released a new poster for The Punisher: One Last Kill on Thursday, featuring Frank in Walking Tall mode.
