Mina the Hollower: How to Increase Health & Number of Plasma Vials

Mina the Hollower is not an easy game, especially when you're first starting out. All enemies deal a ton of damage, and it doesn't take many hits from them to result in a game over and getting sent back to a checkpoint.

In order to become successful in Mina the Hollower, you will need to manage your health and Plasma Vials, which essentially are your health kits. The good news is that it's possible to increase both of these, increasing your chances of survival against the brutal enemies of the game world.

How to Increase Maximum Health

Having a larger health bar will allow you to sustain more hits from enemies, helping you stay alive. There are two ways to increase maximum health in Mina the Hollower. First, you can purchase Health Roses from the Emporium shop in the main city, which is the easiest method to increase health, or you can defeat the game's main bosses to earn Health Roses.

As previously mentioned, purchasing Health Roses from the Emporium is the easiest and quickest option to increase your maximum health in Mina the Hollower. However, it's important to keep in mind that every time you purchase a Health Rose, the next one will cost more Bones. For example, the first Health Rose costs 500 Bones, while the next one costs 1,000, and the one after that cost 1,500.

As for the game's main bosses, each time you defeat one that defends the location of a generator, they will drop a Health Rose for you to pick up and increase your maximum health. This is a nice touch as it gradually makes your character stronger as you progress through the game and defeat bosses.

How to Increase the Number of Plasma Vials

Similar to Health Roses, players can visit the Emporium to increase the number of Plasma Vials you can hold onto. The Emporium sells Vial Pouches for a good amount of bones.

Each time you purchase an Upgrade: Vial Pouch, the next one requires more Bones. Since this is the case, I recommend you save up your Bones, rather than instantly spending them to upgrade your characters' Attack, Defense, or Sidearms. Having more Plasma Vials can make a significant difference in combat, so I recommend purchasing them from Emporium a priority.

Additionally, players can find Vial Pouch upgrades when exploring the world of Mina the Hollower. While very rare, there are treasure chests found in secret spots that contain Vial Pouches, so it's important that you search every nook and cranny before moving onto the next area.

Remember, if you see an odd-looking piece of the wall that doesn't really match the rest of the wall, such as a crack or different color, there's a good chance that it could be destroyed and lead to a hidden area. Always look out for these hidden areas since they could possibly contain a Plasma Vial that can help in future battles.

Emporium Location

As you can see from this guide, the Emporium is a very important location. It's arguably the best shop in the game, so it's important to know exactly where it's located.

The Emporium is found in the main city of the game, Ossex. You can find it on the eastern side of the city, right next to the shop that sells keys. It is the only shop that has a giant Rose on top of it, making it tough to miss.

The good news is that the Emporium becomes available right after completing the introduction of the game and unlocking the city. This means you don't have to travel elsewhere to unlock it and can instantly start purchasing its items.
