As MIO's world begins to expand outward, your ability to travel to new locations will require you to find various keys and badges. One of the first ones you'll come across in this Metroidvania is the Silo Access Badge.

The Silo Access Badge is the very first key that you will acquire during MIO. It is crucial to open up the first major area of the game, and if you're not quite sure where you find it, it can be a bit tricky.

What Is The Silo Access Badge?

The item description for the Silo Access Badge identifies it as being for workers, and exemplifies its importance in that it cannot be lost. The ironic part is that it's clearly been lost, as it's found in an unusual place.

The Silo Access Badge is used to open the door to a maintenance passage that's underneath Haven. In this large, expansive area, you'll need to use the badge to gain further access to Haven's deeper, more complex sections.

Where Is It?

As the Silo Access Badge is acquired fairly early in the game, you'll have to make use of limited abilities in order to find it. Thankfully, getting it is rather easy, and you should be able to grab it no problem.

To start with, head to the furthest left part of the map from the first attunement gate and past Shii. Here, you'll spot an elevator, as well as Mel's shop. On top of that shop is where we want to go.

The easiest way to get the badge is to ride the elevator up to the second floor. Then, step out of the elevator and target the button to send it back down without riding it.

When it reaches the bottom, jump down on top of the elevator. To the right, you'll see a glowing object on top of Mel's shop. Hop over and grab it to get the Silo Access Badge.

Where To Use The Silo Access Badge

After you gain the Silo Access Badge, you can use it almost immediately. It's used to unlock a door that you saw very early when the game began.

Return to the attunement gate at the beginning, the one right below Shii. To your right, you'll find a door that you previously couldn't unlock if you tried before.

With the Silo Access Badge in hand, you can now freely unlock this door. Use it to proceed further into the maintenance passage.
