Monster Hunter Leads the Lineup of Monthly PS Plus Games

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Essential games for March 2026, which feature a bizarre mixture of titles, headlined by Monster Hunter Rise.

PlayStation Plus Essential had an amazing line-up in February, featuring the underwater horrors of Subautica: Below Zero, the exciting dog fighting of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, the challenging boxing matches of Undisputed, and whatever was going in the surreal mushroom trip that is Ultros.

March 2026 is a similarly wide-reaching month for PlayStation Plus Essential. The next line-up of games has been revealed on the official PlayStation Blog, confirming that four titles will be available for subscribers to claim from March 3 to April 6.

According to Sony, the next games coming to PlayStation Plus Essential are:

• PGA Tour 2K25 | PS5
• Monster Hunter Rise | PS5, PS4
• Slime Rancher 2 | PS5
• The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road | PS5, PS4

So, yeah. The line-up includes a golf game, a monster-hunting action RPG, a first-person slime-collecting title, and a bunch of content updates for an MMO. None of these are bad: on the contrary, there are some great titles here. They just have a wider appeal than normal.

Notably, Monster Hunter Rise doesn't include the Sunbreak expansion, which adds a ton of post-game content to the experience. Sunbreak is an excellent DLC and often goes on sale, so those who enjoy Monster Hunter Rise should check it out.

There are still PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games to come, so there's more for subscribers. Those who still aren't satisfied with the bizarre mixture of games in March should hopefully find something they'll enjoy in the larger PlayStation Plus library.
