A new update for Monster Hunter Wilds may have confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 port, as its date suspiciously lines up with a potential future Nintendo Direct.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. In recent times, the series has had a schism, with more impressive mainline entries appearing on home consoles and less intensive spin-offs appearing on handheld systems, though this line has begun to blur with Monster Hunter Rise.

There have been rumors about Monster Hunter Wilds coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and Capcom has dropped a huge hint that they're legit. A post on the official Monster Hunter Twitter/X page has announced that a Monster Hunter Wilds update is launching on February 18, 2026.
Monster Hunter Wilds Update Could Coincide With Nintendo Direct
The reason why a title update on February 18 is so suspicious is that Nintendo usually has a Direct at the start of 2026 near Pokémon Day, which happens on February 27.
If a major update is coming to Monster Hunter Wilds that day, then Capcom could be preparing a shadowdrop for Monster Hunter Wilds on Nintendo Switch 2, as it would line up with the first Direct of 2026. The game is already out on other platforms, so Capcom doesn't need a long promotional period to hype it. If anything, they can promote it as feature-complete, especially if they announce a DLC expansion alongside the Switch 2 port.
Dataminers have discovered a ton of proof that Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future, and the next title update release date lines up too perfectly with Nintendo's usual schedule. The bigger question is whether Monster Hunter Wilds performs well on the Switch 2, considering the game's problems running on PC.
