The attention to detail in this game does not go unnoticed, and that is where it shines and sets itself apart in Moonlight Peaks. The vibes are very reminiscent of Wylde Flowers in terms of the vibrant cast, unique world, and story/quest-based progression. The game holds true to the vampiresque, cozy gothic aesthetic as advertised. From the absolutely adorable character creation and art to the darker-hued colour palette and spooky themes found throughout the map, everything feels whimsical and fun.

Farming by moonlight and slumbering during the day, rising from a coffin, and growing blood grapes are all little endearing touches. The developers captured the tone very well. The tutorial doesn’t feel rushed, and players are slowly eased into the game as the story progresses at Moonlight Peaks. The controls are very intuitive, and the customizable tool wheel is a welcome addition. There are all the things expected from a life/farming sim—farming, foraging, crafting, fishing, cooking, decorating, and critter collecting—but none of them feel tedious.

Crafting is simple, fishing isn’t unnecessarily complicated, and watering crops is streamlined so there’s no need to tediously water one square at a time. It plays like a modernized simming experience. The characters seem thoughtfully created and animated in Moonlight Peaks, with engaging interactions. Dialogue choices elicit varied responses and reactions, and character profiles change throughout conversations, making interactions feel immersive. Because of this, relationship progression doesn’t feel stale. Looking forward to romancing a werewolf.
