Covering the video games industry since 2017, with experience in news, articles, lists, and reviews (and I blame The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for that).
If you are a fan of RPGs and want a third-person version: Tayná Garcia is a Brazilian journalist (but you can call her Tay) who ended up working with video games after finishing Zelda: Majora's Mask when she was a kid. With more than eight years of experience in the segment, she has been an assistant editor at Jovem Nerd in the past and is currently a contributor at DualShockers and a writer for gaming magazines for Editora Europa. Oh, and she may like Hideo Kojima a bit too much.
It looks like players will have to wait just a little bit longer to dive back into the aesthetic of classic 1930s cartoons. Developer Fumi Games announced this Tuesday, February 24, that Mouse: P.I. For Hire, the highly anticipated noir shooter, has officially been delayed.
The game is now scheduled to launch on April 16, 2026. This move represents a roughly one-month pushback, as the title was originally slated to arrive in mid-March.
Fumi Games Prioritizes Quality in Final Development Stages
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Fumi Games explained that the decision to delay Mouse: P.I. For Hire was made to ensure the team has enough time to polish the experience and deliver on their promises to the community.
It looks like players will have to wait just a little bit longer to dive back into the aesthetic of classic 1930s cartoons.
“As we approach the final stages of development, we want to ensure we are taking the extra time and care needed to make MOUSE: P.I. For Hire an experience to remember,” the statement reads, showing how the studio emphasizes that these extra weeks are crucial for the final product. “We remain unwavering in our goal to deliver you the best game we can, and that will take just an extra few weeks.”

2026 is shaping up to be a great year in gaming, and this list contends with several upcoming adventure games well worth checking out.
To help soften the blow for those eager to play, the studio also promised that new updates and gameplay reveals are coming soon to keep the hype train moving toward the new launch window. “We are excited to share more of the game with you in the lead up to launch. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your incredible support,” the team added to wrap up the announcement.
While delays are never easy for fans, one made for the sake of quality is almost always the right call to ensure the game arrives in its best possible state. So we may be waiting for a little bit more, but it seems that things are right on track.
Heavily inspired by 1930s noir animation and born out of the “Steamboat Willie” era of Mickey Mouse entering the public domain, Mouse: P.I. For Hire is now set to launch on April 16, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
