Covering the video games industry since 2017, with experience in news, articles, lists, and reviews (and I blame The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for that).

If you are a fan of RPGs and want a third-person version: Tayná Garcia is a Brazilian journalist (but you can call her Tay) who ended up working with video games after finishing Zelda: Majora's Mask when she was a kid. With more than eight years of experience in the segment, she has been an assistant editor at Jovem Nerd in the past and is currently a contributor at DualShockers and a writer for gaming magazines for Editora Europa. Oh, and she may like Hideo Kojima a bit too much.

It’s April Fools' Day, the one day of the year when we technically shouldn’t believe anything we read online for our own safety – I mean, I just fell for a chocolate shop’s prank this morning, so clearly, no one is safe.

Real-time strategy, zero real-time panic. These RTS titles prove you can strategize without breaking a sweat.

However, amidst all the hoaxes and jokes that enjoy playing with our gamers’ hearts, we occasionally get a genuine announcement, which seems to be the case for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. Well, at least, that’s what the folks at Hooded Horse swear is the truth!

More Classic Empire Building and Turn-Based Strategy

Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era is Coming Out in a Few Weeks and Devs Swear Its Not a Joke 2

A brand-new trailer for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, the highly anticipated next chapter in one of the most critically acclaimed strategy series of all time, just dropped.

The footage offers a pretty neat glimpse into how players will build powerful empires using deep strategic mechanics, punctuated by intense turn-based combat featuring a wide variety of creatures, including massive dragons (my favorite).

However, the real showstopper in the video was the reveal of the Early Access release date! So, the game’s first playable version is now set to arrive on April 30, 2026, initially launching only for PC via Steam Early Access and the Microsoft Store (via Game Preview).

In even better news for subscribers, the title will also be coming to PC Game Pass on day one, offering a perfect opportunity to test the game fresh out of the oven. You can check out the full trailer right below:

Again, everything seems legit here. It is also important to note that this marks the first new Heroes of Might and Magic game in over ten years, so it's unlikely Hooded Horse would toy with fans’ hearts on something this significant... right?

Jokes aside, we have double-checked the facts and the official press release, so I think you can safely lower your guard (at least, in this article) and get excited for what’s coming in Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era!
