I know, we are all hyped for the remake of the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so much so that I’ve already lost count of how many people I’ve seen desperately hunting down a Nintendo Switch 2 just to not miss out on the brand-new version that is set to be released at the end of this year.

However, it seems that Zelda fans (and I am including myself in this) will have to prepare their wallets even more, because Nintendo might not be developing just that single remake, but also two other modern versions of previous chapters from the iconic franchise.

Returning to Termina & Handheld Classics

This speculation comes from GameReactor, which reported this Thursday some very interesting information that recently popped up on IMDb.

Basically, after an analysis of the profile for voice actor Nobuyuki Hiyama, who has lent his voice to Link several times in the past, including in the original Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64, a subtle new update was noticed: a credit to Hiyama for voicing Link using the Fierce Deity Mask in an unannounced The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask HD.

So, in case this proves to be true in the upcoming months, it seems that Nintendo also wants to revitalize OoT’s weirder sibling, which came out a few years after the original and takes Link on a journey outside of Hyrule against a villain that isn't Ganondorf. However, due to the presence of “HD” in the title, it likely won't receive a full remake treatment, but rather a polished remastering. I mean, I'll take it – it’s my favorite Zelda game, so I’m accepting any excuse to replay it.

Jokes aside, another interesting thing to point out is that, given how the development pipeline works, voice talent and audio production are typically integrated during the later stages of post-production. Therefore, having actor credits surface on IMDb right now may mean that Majora’s Mask HD is actually in a relatively advanced stage of development.

While Nintendo has yet to acknowledge the leak, the timing makes perfect sense to keep the franchise's momentum roaring, possibly launching shortly after the remake scheduled for the holiday season, perhaps in an early 2027 window.

But that’s not all! Something interesting also popped up on the profile of Mikiharu Ooiwa, who is a certified veteran of the franchise, boasting over 15 years of experience with the saga, and most recently serving as director for Echoes of Wisdom.

His profile lists a second unannounced title currently in active pre-production: The Legend of Zelda: Oracles. In case you don’t remember, Oracles are a duology within the franchise, composed of Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, originally released back in 2001 for the Game Boy Color. Basically, they are some of the least talked-about handheld Zelda games, but in my opinion, that's pretty unfair because they are just as quirky and fun as the classic Link’s Awakening.

By the way, the listing also notes that actress Mitsuki Saiga, known mainly for voicing Link and Ravio in A Link Between Worlds, is being eyed for the voice of Link again. But the information regarding the project simply stops there.

Well, after all of that, it seems IMDb said too much and might have given us a glimpse of Nintendo's future plans for The Legend of Zelda franchise, which, to be honest, is quite welcome, especially after everyone thought the Japanese company was going to leave us empty-handed for the franchise's 40th anniversary!
