One of Crunchyroll's best new gen shonen anime shares first look at season 2

We got our first look at Gachiakuta second season and it’s very rad.

Gachiakuta was one of last year’s most interesting action anime, and it seems that season 2 might not be that far off. The anime’s official YouTube channel posted a first-look promotional video announcing that the second season is in production.

The brief teaser has Enjin taking a drag, the Raiders being little freaks, poor Amo crying, and Rudo riding atop a car. The trailer shows snippets of the Information Broker arc, where the Cleaners and Raiders race to gather intel on a mysterious item. The anime adapted up to chapter 87 of the source material, which currently spans over 170 chapters total. At the show's current pace, it would take at least another 24-episode season for it to catch up. Season 2 currently doesn't have a release window, but based on the release cadence of Bones' other projects, like My Hero Academia, it's possible it could be out in 2027.

Gachiakuta aired from July 6, 2025, to Dec. 22, 2025. It’s based on Kei Urana’s manga of the same name, which has run in Weekly Shonen Magazine since Feb. 16. 2022. Set in a world where inanimate objects can gain special powers if properly cared for, the story follows Rudo, a boy who is exiled for a crime he didn’t commit. After being left to die in a wasteland called “the Pit,” he runs into the Cleaners, a group that battles Trash Beasts using supernatural weapons. Eventually, Rudo’s powers awaken, and he joins the Cleaners to gather information on how to return to his village and seek revenge against those who wronged him.

The anime adaptation is being handled by Bones Film, a subsidiary of the studio behind acclaimed adaptations like Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, Soul Eater, and many more. Gachiakuta’s first season was bolstered by interesting worldbuilding, compelling characters, and a graffiti art-inspired aesthetic with an abundance of style. The show's second season was announced last December, with a video game adaptation and a stage play revealed that same month.
