If you’ve ever compared your Jetragon to someone else's and wondered why its stats were so different, chances are you haven’t optimised your Pal’s passive skills. In Palworld, any Pal can have a maximum of 4 different passive skills, each modifying its stats and powers in different ways.

For example, your Pal might have something like Ferocious, which increases its attack stat by 20%. This is pretty great for a strong damage-dealer or glass-cannon. However, if you wanted a certain Pal just for working at your base, you might pick something like Artisan, which improves Work Speed by 50%.

Of course, with these things, you can’t always choose, as the majority of passives generate randomly upon catching a Pal. However, with certain equipment and a couple of rare and powerful items, you can alter your Pal’s passives and turn them into the ultimate companion!

Pal Surgery Table

In order to alter your Pals' Passive Skills, you’ll first need to build yourself a Pal Surgery Table at level 38 and use the following items:

  • 30x Refined Ingot
  • 20x High Quality Cloth
  • 10x Corrosive Solvent

Through this new station, you can change your Pal’s gender using a Pal Reverser, which is particularly useful if you need an extra breeding partner.

But more importantly, you can use the table to forcefully change your Pal’s passives. Even if your Pal already has 4 passives, you can simply select the one you want to remove and overwrite it with a new one. However, to do this, you’ll need something called an Implant.

Collecting Implants

Key Item Implants

  • Palworld Implant

  • Palworld Bounty Shop

While this is quite a lot easier than breeding or training a perfect Yakumo, it may take a while to get yourself the implants that you want.

There are 2 types of implants: Key Item Implants and Disposable Implants. The Key Item variant can be used as many times as you wish and covers a large selection of gold-quality passives. The disposable version gives access to far more powerful passives, but can only be used once.

Using a Key Item Implant will incur a cost. The disposable variants, however, have no gold cost, but will be lost upon use.

In terms of Key Item Implants, you can get the following from the Arena using Arena Tickets:

  • Serenity
  • Infinite Stamina
  • Runner
  • Ace Swimmer
  • Noble
  • Healing Coach
  • Roload Master

There are also some Key Item Implants that you can get from Bounty Officers using the Bounty Tokens:

  • Musclehead
  • Burly Body
  • Artisan
  • Vanguard
  • Stronghold Strategist
  • Motivational Leader
  • Wellness Watcher

Disposable Implants

  • Palworld Passive Transfer

  • Palworld Disposable Implants

While these passives are all pretty great, if you want to maximise the potential of your Pals, you’ll need to get yourself the shining-blue-quality passives. These passives are far rarer, and in some cases can only be obtained via the World Tree or through Mutation.

Luckily, we have access to the Relic Recycler, which can process relics found in the World Tree, giving us a chance to find extremely valuable Disposable Implants. Relics are simply found by defeating or catching Pals found in the World Tree.

Palworld Recycler

Through this method, you can find pretty broken implants for passives like Demon God, Diamond Body and Immortality. Giving these passives to your Pals will seriously improve their performance and give you a far better shot when trying out the Hard Mode Towers or the Arena!

If you want a more detailed breakdown regarding the Relic Recycler and maximising Relics gained in the World Tree, check out our next guide below!
