Paralives makes it difficult to improve your grades, regardless of which grade level your Paras are at, and part of that comes from the design of the homework system. If you're used to The Sims, then you're used to The Sims 2 and 3 having your Sims place their homework on a table, making it easy for you to select and complete it. In The Sims 4, you can usually find homework in your Sims' inventories. However, Paralives doesn't give you a physical homework assignment to select and complete.

Homework isn't the only factor that impacts your Paras' grades, but it's definitely a solid way to improve them when it can feel like grades decrease at an alarmingly fast rate.

Passive Grade Changes

When your Paras go to school, their mood plays a role in how their grades will be impacted that day. If their mood is too low, or they have too many negative status effects, they're more likely to have a subject drop down to a lower grade, such as a B grade going down to a C grade.

Looking at the career tab for younger Paras will open their school information. This menu shows you their current grade, a performance meter, the classes they're taking, perks if they have any, and homework assignments if they have any. You'll also use this menu when your Para has an upgrade point for school, which can be used to increase their grade in a subject or for a perk that's usually along the lines of an increased learning speed for skills.

Homework Assignments

It took me too long to figure this out, because I was looking for homework when my Paras hadn't been assigned any yet. When your Para gets homework, you receive a notification on the right side of your screen. Then, when you go into that Para's career tab for their school information, you'll see the homework assignment and how long the Para has to complete it.

Figuring out how to complete the assignment is the next challenge, because the game gives you no information about how to do this. First, you need a functional computer. Hopefully, you have an adult Para in the household with a job, letting you afford even the cheap computer option plus a desk and chair.

When your Para has an assignment, take control of them and select the computer. There will now be an option that says "Do Homework" and the submenu lets you pick the currently available homework assigned to that Para. I haven't had assignments for multiple classes overlap yet, but I assume that this submenu will have all active assignments in that case.

Completing homework will immediately increase that Para's grade by a full letter for that class. Because of this, you want to do every homework assignment. It's more difficult to raise grades than it is for them to end up dropping passively, so you need every chance you get to make improvements. This is also why I recommend using upgrade points to increase your grades when you have the option in Paralives.
