We all know that PlayStation Plus subscribers brace themselves every single month to see if the upcoming selection of "Monthly Games", which is basically a monthly batch of titles you get to claim and keep (as long as your subscription is active), will deliver actual quality or just fill out a digital catalog.

For August 2026, Sony is offering a surprisingly well-rounded trio of titles across completely different genres. But while big-budget parkour action and cooperative puzzle-solving might grab initial headlines, one specific inclusion stands head and shoulders above the rest for fans of atmospheric gaming.

According to a fresh update on the official PlayStation Blog, starting Tuesday, August 4, all PlayStation Plus members across the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers can claim three distinct titles: Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS5 and PS4), the cooperative adventure Big Walk (PS5), and the iconic survival horror title Signalis (PS4).

While jumping into a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested city in Dying Light or hanging out with friends in Big Walk certainly sound like great ways to spend your gaming sessions, Signalis is undeniably the crown jewel of this month's lineup.

For those unfamiliar with this indie sensation, calling this baby “just a horror game” feels like an understatement. Originally released to critical acclaim, it stands comfortably as one of the finest psychological survival horror experiences of the decade. Drawing heavy inspiration from early Silent Hill and classic PS1-era Resident Evil, the game puts you in the boots of Elster, a technician Replika searching for her lost partner in a dystopian, retrotech world.

So, if you have any affinity for retro survival horror or love games that aren't afraid to get genuinely weird and unsettling, having this added to your PS Plus library at no extra cost is definitely a huge win!

But hey, if psychological dread isn't your vibe, August still has plenty of variety to offer.
