Pokémon Champions has finally launched on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2, and those who jump in within the first few months will be given a powerful Gen Pokémon for free, one that they can keep for their team.

Pokémon Champions is a battle simulator that's fully focused on competitive fights. While it's free-to-start, the game is trying to monetize itself in a way similar to Pokémon Go, via paid upgrades to players' boxes and training items that help Pokémon reach competitive stats.

Those who log in to Pokémon Champions from the beginning will get access to a Dragonite and 100 Quick Coupons. Serebii has now revealed that a Machamp is also being distributed via the Mystery Gift feature and will be available until August 31, 2026.

Machamp Is Free To All Pokemon Champions Players For A Limited Time

In order to claim the Machamp in Pokémon Champions, the player can go to the Submenu section, look for Mystery Gift, and enter CHAMP10N as a code.

If the player enters the code, and it says it has already been claimed, simply reboot the game; it should then appear as a freebie in the Mail section. It's currently unclear why the game does this, but either way, the Machamp will be permanently added to the player's team.

The Machamp is a level 50 Fighting-type Pokémon that knows Dynamic Punch, Stone Edge, Ice Punch, and Bullet Punch. It also possesses the No Guard Ability, which means its attacks and all attacks against it have 100% accuracy.

More importantly, the player can keep the Machamp on their team permanently, rather than having to rent it like other Pokémonin the game. The Machamp has a great selection of moves, meaning it's a decent choice for people assembling their first PokémonChampions team.
