Pokémon Go 'Carnival of Flamigo' event guide

Pokémon Go’s "Carnival of Flamigo" event runs from Feb. 3-8 and it introduces, well, Flamigo. This flying- and fighting-type bird is making its debut and some Pokémon themed around the celebration will be spawning more frequently throughout the event.

During this event, Incense and Daily Adventure Incense will last double their usual amount of time and catching Flamigo will net 500 bonus Stardust. Additionally, Lotad, Spritzee, and Pikipek will have higher shiny rates during the event period.

How to find Flamigo in Pokémon Go

If you are eagerly hunting down this flamingo Pokémon, there are a few ways to grab it during this event:

• Catch it in the wild, though the blog for this event does denote it is a rarer spawn.
• Complete the "Carnival of Flamigo" free Timed Research for two Flamigo encounters.
• Complete the premium "Carnival of Flamigo" research for two more Flamigo encounters.
• Complete the "Colors of Joy" Collection Challenge for a Flamigo encounter.
• Find and complete the two research tasks that can potentially reward you with a Flamigo: "Make 3 curveball throws in a row" and "Make a great curveball throw."

This is all to say that finding Flamigo is much easier than some previous Pokémon debuts that involve raiding and egg hatching. As of writing this, Flamigo cannot be shiny, so don't go too hard seeking this bird out if you want it in its rarer form, as it's not available yet.
