Pokémon Pokopia 'Wish Upon a Jirachi' event guide

1 hour ago 1

Pokémon Pokopia's "Wish Upon a Jirachi" event gives you a chance to earn some new starry- and cloudy-themed furniture and bring the eponymous wishmaker to your town for good. You need to make wish notes and turn them into shining wish notes to get the furniture, and making Jirachi's habitat requires four pieces from that set. So even if you're not keen on how the starry furniture looks, you'll need to collect some shining wish notes to make Jirachi's home.

This event runs from June 23 starting at 5 a.m. until July 8 at 4:59 a.m., based on your Nintendo Switch 2's console time.

Below, we explain how to start Pokémon Pokopia's "Wish Upon a Jirachi" event and how to get shining wish notes.

Make sure you've updated your game to version 1.1.1 and have at least one rebuilt Pokémon Center. Then, when you start the game, you'll get a notice that a special Pokémon has come to visit. Jirachi will be wandering around somewhere in the region near the Pokémon Center. Speak to them, and they'll ask if you'll help them collect shining wish notes — without telling you how to get them.

You do get a crafting recipe for standard wish notes, though. Crafting one wish note requires two vine ropes.

Head to the Pokémon Center, where Jirachi has now set up shop. You'll see their themed furniture on display. Each piece costs one shining wish note.

You can ask Jirachi about shining wish notes, but you'll only get a vague hint about helping others while holding wish notes. Here's how it works.

After Jirachi sets up shop in the Pokémon Center, you'll occasionally see a Pokémon wandering around with a speech bubble above their heads. They won't approach you, and the bubble doesn't have the orange quest outline that accompanies Pokémon with a quest. Make sure you have a wish note in your inventory, and speak to the Pokémon.

They'll ask if you can help them, and once you agree, they'll tell you what they need. You'll hand over a wish note for them to keep until you're finished.

Requests fall into three categories in our experience:

Bring the Pokémon the item or meal they requested, or if it's furniture they want, place the item in their home or habitat. Speak with them again to complete the request and get your wish note back, now transformed into a shining wish note.

These event requests last until the game resets for the next day, though there's no penalty for failing to finish them. There's also no limit to how many of these requests will spawn in one day, so you should have plenty of time to get all the shining wish notes you need.

However, they do seem to spawn at random. You may go for five or 10 minutes without having any Pokémon turn up with requests or have multiple at once. If you're in a dry spell, head to a different region to pick some up. In our experience, as long as you've raised the environment level to three and purchased the Pokémon Center repair kit there, Pokémon will have event quests even if the center isn't complete. Jirachi just won't show up with goods for sale there.

Jirachi's shop has 10 items in it, including the items you need for their habitat. Each costs one shining wish note, so you'll need at least four to make the habitat and at least 10 to get one copy of every item.

Like with the Sableye and Hoppip events, some of the items Jirachi sells are functional as well as decorative. The bed is a resting spot like any other bed, for example, and you can use the wardrobe for storage and the dresser to adjust your appearance. Jirachi also gives you a star-themed photo frame after you spend seven shining wish notes.

And as always, you can use Pokémetal to duplicate these items at the 3D printer in the Pokémon Center, if you want more after the event ends.

Jirachi is the only Pokémon for this event, so there's just one habitat. You'll need:

  • Jirachi Lamp
  • Starry-Sky Bed
  • Star Closet
  • Cloud Table

Arrange them as shown in the above image. Note that the Jirachi Lamp must be powered by a source of electricity before this habitat counts as complete. You'll get crafting recipes for generators and utility poles as you progress through the Bleak Beach quests. If you're in a hurry, though, you can access Bleak Beach after finishing the Withered Wasteland story and either build Jirachi's habitat near the active utility poles above Smeargle's painting hut or swipe some poles and build the habitat next to the windmill behind the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center.
