Crimson Desert has been taking the world by storm thanks to its massive open world, strong gameplay, and complicated puzzle designs. There are many calling it an amazing RPG, and for good reason. The game hearkens back to the earlier days of gaming, offering little hand holding and more creativity.
Of course, Crimson Desert is not without its flaws, with many complaining about the game's control scheme and some lamenting the visuals. There's no denying that it could use some updates when it comes to quality of life features, so I have compiled a list of things that should be added to Crimson Desert in the future.
8 A Better Camera
Hug the Shoulder
Let's be honest, the camera in Crimson Desert is okay, but it isn't the best. No matter what level you set it to, it feels like you are miles away from your character. That is, until you hit a first-person point-of-view.
Maybe it's just me, but I prefer to have a more balanced camera that hugs our character's shoulder. Think about games like Resident Evil or God of War. Luckily, there is a mod that allows you to change the camera of Crimson Desert to be over the shoulder.
A tighter focus on the character while playing makes the experience feel better over all, and it helps when it comes to interacting with characters and items as well.
7 Instant Interactions
No More Holding Buttons
This is another feature in Crimson Desert that gets old after a while. There are many instances where you need to either hold or rapidly tap a button to do something.
If you want to speed up your interaction while performing a task, hold a button. If you want to interact with NPCs, sometimes you need to go out of your way to hold the interact button to perform an action.
It would be nice if we could just instantly interact with objects and characters in the world. Again, this is a problem that can be fixed by a mod, but it should also be added as an option in the menu.

Here are the skills you should unlock as soon as possible in Crimson Desert.
6 Hide the HUD
Or Make it a Toggle
Admittedly, this is something that I am a bit nitpicky about. There isn't much wrong with the HUD in Crimson Desert, but it would be nice to not have the HUD be around.
Being able to disable the HUD would make the entire experience of Crimson Desert a lot more immersive. Constantly needing to see bars that remind you of how much stamina you have or what is around you can be tiresome, especially when you know where you are at.
I would like to see an update where you have the option to disable the HUD or make it a toggle. This way, you can turn it on and off whenever you wish.
5 Better Thievery
Give Us a Sell Price
I like to be a thief in Crimson Desert. After all, stealing items from NPCs is a great way to get some extra cash early in the game and help you buy some new gear.
Unfortunately, there are some issues when it comes to thievery in Crimson Desert. First, you need to have a mask, which is a restriction I would like to see removed. Second, you can sometimes grab the wrong item, as the interaction menu isn't the greatest.
I would like to see a change in this where we are freely allowed to pick up items without the need to focus on them. Finally, it would be great to see a sell price, as it would let us know if the item is worth stealing or not.
4 Remove the Borders
Tired of Letterbox Format
Something that I find a bit odd is that whenever you enter a cutscene, the game automatically puts everything in letterbox format, placing massive black borders on the top and bottom of the screen. Wouldn't it be nice if those were removed?
This is yet another problem that can be solved with mods for Crimson Desert, but it feels like we shouldn't need to use them. Pearl Abyss should add the option to remove the letterbox formatting, as it makes the cutscenes much more enjoyable.
There should also be the option to change the subtitles, as giving them a bolder look would help them stand out.
3 Attack Cancellation
Make Combat Better
The combat in Crimson Desert has a lot of deep mechanics. Various button combinations allow you to perform different actions, making the experience very immersive, but there is a feature Pearl Abyss missed.
I am talking about attack cancellation. It is a simple action that would make a big difference during combat. Simply giving us the option to cancel an attack by holding up our shield or dodging would be great.
As it stands, you need to finish an attack before dodging or using your shield, but imagine if you could cancel that attack by blocking to prevent yourself from getting hit.

2 Clean Kills
Why the Filter?
One of the things we have seen many people complain about is the strange, gray filter that appears whenever you get a kill. We understand the emphasis being there for dramatic effect, but it throws off combat.
I have heard tales of this filter messing with the game's combat on some machines, and ultimately making the experience less enjoyable. The developer should add the option to turn off this dramatic visualization so that we can deal fatal blows without all the visual effects.
Kills should be clean, quick, and to the point. It would also be nice if we could remove this filter from other aspects of the game, but the combat is where it needs to be removed the most.
1 A Better Mini-Map
Rework Required
There are some tweaks that could be made to the mini-map to make it better overall. There is a mod that handles all of these tweaks called Minimap Teaks, but it would be great to see Pearl Abyss implement some of these.
First, the reveal range should be changed to the distance you see when you're running, rather than being zoomed in. Second, the mini-map should stay consistent and not zoom in and out depending on your actions.
Third, give the mini-map an outline with a more clear cardinal north indicator. Finally, adjust the icon sizes to make them feel less cluttered on the screen. Do all this, and you have a perfect mini-map for the game.
