Fans will soon be able to pre-order the biggest video game release of 2026, as Rockstar has announced that the pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 are opening next week on all platforms, cementing the upcoming November release date.

There has been a ton of speculation about Grand Theft Auto 6 being delayed to 2027, despite Take-Two repeatedly saying it's hitting the November 2026 release date. Fans have heard similar statements before, thanks to countless sad Twitter/X posts from developers announcing last-minute delays, due to their game needing more polish before it's ready for release.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Website Reveals Tons Of New Character & World Info

The official Grand Theft Auto 6 website has been updated with promo images and new character info that wasn't shown in the second trailer.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026, and it seems the developers are locking in on that date. According to an announcement on the Rockstar Games Instagram account, the pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 will go live on June 25, 2026.

The Instagram post confirmed the pre-order date, as well as providing the game's official cover art. What wasn't revealed was the price, which is something the industry has been speculating about for years now. With the ever-increasing cost of game production, many people think Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch at $80 USD, which should finally be confirmed next week.

The pre-order date is only for the console version of Grand Theft Auto 6, as there's currently no word regarding when the PC version will release, nor any confirmation of a Nintendo Switch 2 port. Considering Grand Theft Auto 6 is likely challenging The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for holiday sales, it's likely the game won't get ported until 2027, assuming it's even possible.

According to an announcement on the Rockstar Games Instagram account, the pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 will go live on June 25, 2026.

The best part of the pre-order announcement is that it should finally dispel the rumors and fears regarding any delays. If Rockstar and Take-Two are taking money for Grand Theft Auto 6, then it's going to open up both companies to a ton of criticism if it gets pushed back any further, especially following all the official statements saying it's hitting the November release date.

And with the pre-order date announcement, the year of Grand Theft Auto 6 can truly begin. Will anyone care about any other releases this year? Will the Game of the Year categories just be one name repeated over and over again? The time of worry and questions is coming to an end, and the return to Vice City is at hand.
