Get into the world, amass wealth, or go down to fish – it’s up to you! A wonderfully relaxing and rewarding game, with a great scope for further development in Sail the Seas.

The physics of sailing is very good and easily understood for anyone with the slightest interest in and knowledge of sailing. Overall, a decent sailing simulator. Compared to Sailwind, the only advantages are the crew and a realistic map. Otherwise, the game still falls short. The sea is not as beautiful, there are more bugs, the ports are repetitive, and updates are infrequent. It’s good for variety.

a realistic world map, albeit on a small scale; realistic sail control; the ability to hire a crew and give orders instead of running around a ship with 18 sails alone. Unique mechanics, so far, for a game with full sail control. monotony (typical of all similar games); little content, 4 types of ships, nothing to do except trade.

Sail the Seas is a decently fleshed-out Age of Sail sim I’ve always wanted, lol. Sea of Thieves hit a certain spot for me, but the style of this is perfect. However, this gem has a few issues, as all indie games do. The main one that sticks out is the optimization in port. It’s really bad. And yeah, the ports are kind of empty and unfinished, but they do what they need to. Once you’re out on the water, it runs great in Sail the Seas. The water physics are awesome, though clipping through the deck is a little eh. I can rationalize it as water washing over the deck. But yeah, cool boat game, lol. I get most of it now, but it needs a tutorial… for real.
