Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings new suits to Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Peter gets some fresh threads to celebrate his latest MCU outing

It's a big week for Spider-Man, and Insomniac Games is celebrating. To coincide with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day — the latest MCU outing for the web-slinger — and the lead-up to the fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, new suits are coming to Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Sony first announced that Spider-Man's Brand New Day suit would be added to the 2023 game back in June. The Fresh Start Suit for Peter is available today. The Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls suit, also available today, comes as a bit of a surprise, if a very welcome one. It brings Peter's look from the upcoming tag-team fighting game into Marvel's Spider-Man 2. While the Fresh Start suit looks pretty clean, it feels a bit similar to other options in the game. The Tōkon skin, on the other hand, has some incredible visual flair that makes it really stand out.

In addition to the two new suits, the latest update brings a handful of minor technical improvements to the game. It now supports Enhanced PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro as well as Power Saver Mode. Even three years after the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the title remains one of the best Marvel games ever made.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31. It picks up where 2021's No Way Home left off, with Tom Holland's Peter Parker now living in a world where his closest friends and family no longer have any memory of him or his life as Spider-Man. The film pits Peter against a mysterious new threat played by Sadie Sink, whose identity has been the subject of much theorizing. We praised the fourth MCU Spidey adventure in our review, saying, "Brand New Day isn’t just the best Holland-Spidey movie, either. It meets or maybe even surpasses the extremely high bar set by Sam Raimi’s first two Spider-Man movies."

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available now on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC.
