Ever since LucasArts was shut down when Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, the fate of many Star Wars games and books was left in a state of limbo or simply abandoned in Legends.
One of the most prominent Star Wars properties that was left in a state of limbo was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its spinoffs, with only the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic receiving updates since the Disney purchase.

Fate is currently in the early stages of development with no official release window revealed currently, but Reilly has assured fans that there are "... quite literally, infinite stories to tell [in Fate]".
