Getting achievements on Steam and Trophies on console is a deeply satisfying process, and the hardest ones to get give you bragging rights. Starsand Island is no different, with 75 achievements to unlock as you progress through its Professions, relationships, and encyclopedia entries.

Most of these achievements are really easy to unlock, and my first week playing it I felt like I had the achievement pop-up appearing every time I completed an action no matter how mundane. This deluge of achievements does slow down, and some of them are genuinely hard to unlock because of the sheer amount of grinding and relying on RNG for rare drops.

10 Dream Manor

Purchase 5 New Plots of Land

starsand-island-house

This one is a bit tricky, because it's expensive and there are some specifications that aren't immediately obvious. Buying more land becomes available once you place five pieces of furniture in your cabin, and you reach the Apprentice level of any Profession.

  1. Level 2 (active Apprentice level) in any profession
  2. 5 requests completed
  3. Earn 2k coins
  4. Meet 10 Islanders

Once you've unlocked the option to buy more land, you can continue purchasing one piece at a time until all of Hopeland is yours. This will take some time to get the money unless you're minmaxing. It also requires a lot of Starsand, so you have to do quests and participate in the community to afford all five land purchases.

9 Just Roommates

Have a Marriage Candidate Move in With You

starsand-island-house-beach

Building relationships can take a lot of time because of Starsand Island's restrictions. You can chat to marriage candidates, give them gifts, and take pictures with them once per day. Because they're found all over the island, it can be difficult to fit seeing everyone into your schedule, especially if you're also fitting in crafting, mining, and any Profession or request board quests.

An NPC can only move in with you if they're a marriage candidate and if they're at five hearts. There are seven bachelorettes and six bachelors:

  • Alex
  • Lunelle
  • Pastelle
  • Neona
  • Serena
  • Solara
  • Stella
  • Zerine
  • Aurelis
  • Delphin
  • Graminova
  • Loren
  • Sylvain
  • Zephyria
  • Youfang (who is the only candidate who cannot move in with you)

After you reach five hearts, you can ask the marriage candidate to move in with you.

8 Inseparable

Reach Four Hearts with Ten Residents

This Starsand Island achievement is related to Just Roommates, but this one is more of a jack-of-all trades view towards relationships. The Inseparable achievement requires reaching heart level four with ten different NPCs, which is the second-highest level of relationship.

What's island life without a bit of romance in the mix?

Chat to everyone every day, even if they're not marriage candidates. Stock up on all the general loved gifts, like Twilight Succulents and Moonflowers, and make visiting as many NPCs as possible a part of your daily routine. There are a lot of NPCs that hang out in town, so you don't have to travel all over the island to get this achievement out of the way.

7 Road Master

Build all Nine Bus Stops

starsand-island-bike

Road Master requires unlocking all the bus stops on Starsand Island, which unlocks fast travel. Fast travel is a game changer, but it takes some work to get there. To get the option to build bus stops, you need to first complete the Maritime Bureau quest from Marston. Once that's done, Solara will request your help in efforts to rebuild the bus stops.

Rebuilding the bus stops isn't very difficult, but it can take a long time if you haven't been stockpiling raw materials. There are a lot of raw materials needed for repairing every bus stop, and it requires a lot of grinding in the Moonlit Forest and setting ore to be smelted into ingots.

6 Lifelong Companions

Reach Friendship Level 5 with 10 NPCs

starsand-island-date

Level 5 is the highest relationship level you can have with NPCs at the time of writing, which lets marriage candidates move in as roommates. There are enough marriage candidates to get this achievement by befriending all of them, but it's definitely easier to focus on the other NPCs as well, who may be easier to find than just limiting yourself to a select group.

Like with the Inseparable achievement, the fastest way to unlock this one is by stockpiling gifts and sticking to a routine. Some of the easiest NPCs to get hearts with are Zerine, Graminova, Hattie, Regis, Ginger, Aurelis, and Solara, who all tend to stick around town in a fairly predictable area.

5 Fluffy Recluse

Adopt Six Pets

starsand-island-sheep-pastelle

Starsand Island pets are adorable, and you can adopt a bunch of them. To adopt a pet, you must build a relationship with it while it's a stray by giving it its preferred food, petting, and playing with it.

It's not true island living without a loyal companion!

There are 12 adoptable animals in Starsand Island:

  • 404: This is a cat, and yes, that is his name.
  • Booboo: Panda
  • Sarge: Dog
  • Nana: Cat
  • Octa: Fox
  • Zippy: Squirrel
  • Mellowhen: Capybara
  • Crescent: Cat
  • Bobo: Dog
  • Scrappy: Dog
  • Sheriff: Cat
  • Meow Alum: Cat

Adopting a pet takes patience, having the right food, and being able to find the animal, which is probably why so few people have this achievement. Just be consistent, and soon you'll have a bunch of little guys as friends.

4 Sandcastle Kingdom

Buy Blue Beach

starsand-island-beach

You get the Sandcastle Kingdom achievement after purchasing Blue Beach, a piece of land available on the main island. Purchasing Blue Beach requires attaining Level 4, Bright Star, on the Island Living app.

Getting to Bright Star takes a bit of work, including unlocking all three levels before it. In addition to the following actions, you need to have achieved all the earlier Island Living ranks. You'll also need 6,000,000 to actually purchase it.

  • Purchase Cloudrest Lake
  • Reach Expert in any Profession
  • Reach 5 hearts with 2 marriage candidates
  • Meet 24 residents
  • Give gifts to residents 30 times
  • Discover 70 aquatic creatures
  • Go sea fishing 10 times
  • Complete 200 merchant ship purchases
  • Build a cross-sea bridge
  • Acquire ten types of mounts
  • Acquire ten types of large land vehicles

3 Legendary Friend

Unlock the Luna Deer

starsand-island-luna-deer

Mounts are one of the ways to get around Starsand Island. There's already a variety in which mounts are available, and there are definitely preferences depending on your character and your own personal tastes. One of the most elegant and the rarest is the Luna Deer mount, which also unlocks the Legendary Friend achievement.

The Luna Deer is the reward for completing the Moonlit Forest questline. This can take a while as you encounter different barriers that require some investment in the Crafting and Explorer Professions, which unlocks the blueprints you need to craft weapons and tools to get past certain barriers and enemies. Stock up on arrows, including fire and water arrows for vines deep in the forest, and you should be set to take on anything in your way.

2 Offshore Living

Purchase Land on Windflute Island

starsand-island-farming

You get the Offshore Living achievement when you buy Windflute Island. This is the final piece of land you can purchase in Starsand Island so far, and there are a couple of things you need to achieve first to unlock it as an option.

Unlocking it as an option requires reaching the fifth and highest level on the Island Life app, Starsand Legend. Getting to this level requires achieving all the previous levels before it, as well as building ten stations and purchasing Blue Beach. Once you've achieved that, you can unlock the option to buy Windflute Island, which costs 10,000,000g.

1 Living Legend

Own All the Land on Starsand Island

starsand-island-giant-watermelon

This is the hardest achievement in Starsand Island simply because it requires a combination of money, RNG luck, and investing in nearly all the features available in the game. Much of the land is only available at higher tiers of the Island Living app, and property can only be purchased in chunks.

To get the Living Legend achievement, you have to have purchased all the land available in Starsand Island. This means you have to have earned the highest level on the Island Living app and have completed all the steps needed to get there. Once you have this achievement, you have basically completed all the content available in Starsand Island's Early Access, at least until its next update.
