A new trailer for Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park revealed several features planned for the game, as well as a release date of March 26 and special amiibos. The upgraded version of the game will include new characters, expansive multiplayer options, and quality of life improvements.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park was first revealed last year during a Nintendo Direct as part of Mario's 40th-anniversary celebration. Unlike some Switch 2 editions released by Nintendo, this updated version offers much more than better performance and enhanced graphics. It's largely centered around expanding the original game's multiplayer, with the addition of Bellabel Park brimming with new minigames to play with friends and family.

The new trailer introduced the two plazas in Bellabel Park: Local Multiplayer Plaza and Game Room Plaza. The former offers up to four-player local multiplayer in versus or co-op play across 17 attractions, and GameShare is supported, meaning only one player needs to own the game. The latter plaza is for local wireless or online play, with everyone utilizing their own system, and is compatible with six of the attractions. Local wireless supports up to eight players, and online supports up to 12.

Up to four players can now participate in Toad Brigade Training Camp, which offers special objectives — like collecting enough coins within a time limit — across courses from the main game. As players progress, they'll rise through the ranks of the brigade, aiming to reach the rank of Elite Explorer. Players can also take on the seven Koopalings, who have stolen the treasure of Bellabel Park and hidden themselves throughout the Flower Kingdom.

One of the biggest additions to the game is Rosalina, who, alongside her sidekick Luma, is now playable across all modes. Luma can be selected when there are two or more players, acting as a support character that can fly around courses without taking damage to collect coins and hit enemies. For added ease, Luma can also be controlled with the Switch 2's mouse. In a similar vein, players can now select Assist Mode, which allows them to play through levels as any character without taking damage, and they'll be rescued when falling into gaps.

There is one new feature revealed in the trailer that hasn't been elaborated upon: There's seemingly a flower-themed power-up being added to the game. Shown only for a moment near the end of the trailer, Mario was seen picking up a flower, donning a flowery outfit, and firing flowery discs into the air.

The game is slated to launch on March 26, and alongside it will come three new amiibo: Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower. Players who already own the game can purchase an upgrade pack to access the new features, with preorders opening today, Jan. 22.
