Indie adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits is getting a sequel. Kena: Scars of Kosmora will launch sometime in 2026 for both PlayStation 5 and PC.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits was the debut game for Ember Lab, an animation studio turned game developer. The game was a breakout hit in 2021, winning Game Awards for both Best Independent Game and Best Debut game. As revealed in February's PlayStation State of Play stream, it's now getting a sequel.
The debut trailer for Kena: Scars of Kosmora didn't offer too many surprises. It still has the same impressive animation and is again set in a natural world filled with monsters and Rot, the first game's adorable companion creatures.
We only got a few concrete details about the game thanks to some comments from Ember Lab developers following the trailer. The team promises that the sequel will sport "deeper, more dynamic combat" and feature a "larger, richer world." That last part is especially intriguing, as the trailer did appear to tease a proper open-world game this time around.
