The best JRPG of the PlayStation 4 era has received an age rating for Nintendo Switch 2, meaning an updated version of a classic could be on the way to the system.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been gradually updating its first- and third-party libraries to make the most of the new hardware, allowing older Switch games to run better than before. Titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are almost unrecognizable due to how much the Switch 2 has improved their visuals and performance.

The Switch 2's sales in its first three months have surpassed those of the previous record holder, the PS4.
It seems that one of the best third-party titles on the Nintendo Switch is next in line for the remaster treatment. As pointed out by ResetEra, Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition has been rated in Taiwan.
Dragon Quest 11 Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch 2
It makes sense that Dragon Quest 11 would receive a Nintendo Switch 2 release. Dragon Quest 11 was originally released on the PS4 and Nintendo 3DS, with the Definitive Edition coming to the original Switch in 2019. However, the Definitive Edition would later come to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with much crisper visuals and better performance than the Switch version.
The question now is whether the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dragon Quest 11 is a full port with its own release, an upgrade path for owners of the original, or both. It's also unclear when Nintendo or Square Enix would announce it, especially as Nintendo has been shadow-dropping announcements recently.
The question now is whether the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dragon Quest 11 is a full port with its own release, an upgrade path for owners of the original, or both.
Dragon Quest 11 might be the best JRPG of the PlayStation 4 era, with an engrossing story that can easily take over 100 hours to complete. The Definitive Edition added even more content, as well as new endings for the people who were disappointed with the lack of romance options in the original.
Hopefully, the Dragon Quest 11 age rating is hinting at a Nintendo Direct, as the Switch 2 is in dire need of game announcements, and if Nintendo isn't careful, all the reveals will be leaked before they can be officially shown to the world.
