Who knew Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, and Roman Reigns were a match made in heaven?

When Legendary Pictures and Capcom announced the actors starring in the latest movie adaptation of the fighting game series, fans were as confused as they were amazed. 50 Cent as Balrog? Ken is the guy from To All The Boys I've Ever Loved? Blanka is going to be WHO? But at tonight's The Game Awards, the casting director behind the 2026 Street Fighter movie has been wholly vindicated as a genius.
These guys have chemistry. Possibly, they've also had substances of some sort based on the amount of hooting and hollering they got up to while announcing the winners for Best Ongoing Game. No Man's Sky is a great game and all, but the cast had the stage sounding like a frat house on a Friday night. No one at The Game Awards was having as good of a time as the actors for Street Fighter were.
At one point, the cast even tricked the audience. "We're not the only game that appreciates your patronage," began controversial comedian Andrew Schulz, who will be playing the goofy Dan Hibiki. "There's another game out there. They also flew from around the world because they appreciate you. So give it up for the cast of Mortal Kombat 2," he exclaimed as the rest of the cast hyped him up with screams.
"I'm just kidding, they didn't come, they don't care about you," Schulz quickly revealed. "They just care about money. We care about money and you. Street Fighter forever!" The cast then devolved into more unintelligible yelling and the occasional 'FOREVA!!'
Will the movie be any good? It's hard to tell, even after watching the moody first trailer for the flick. It certainly doesn't seem like a serious take on the globe-trotting fighting game series, which is probably for the best. But after seeing the actors rib each other for mispronouncing 'Ryu' and just generally being a mess together, I want to be hopeful that it's going to be a fun time. My only complaint is that we didn't get to see 50 Cent interacting with the rest of the cast. Maybe Geoff wanted to save something good for The Game Awards 2026.
