If you’ve been looking for fresh announcements to fill up your gaming radar, Nacon Connect 2026 just did you a massive favor! The publisher's annual showcase, held this Thursday, May 7th, was packed with updates, but the real show-stealer was the double dose of reveals for fans of the World of Darkness universe.
10 Upcoming Horror Games to Keep on Your Radar in 2026
Here are 10 upcoming horror games to keep an eye on in 2026.
For those not yet initiated, this legendary tabletop RPG setting is the gold standard for gothic-punk horror. It’s a world where supernatural entities like vampires, werewolves, and mages live hidden in the shadows of modern society, and you’ve likely stumbled across its influence before – most notably in the cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade.
But Nacon’s latest showcase proves they are ready to double down on this dark, rain-slicked lore with some unexpected new directions.
The Return of the Hunt & Some Shape-Shifting Twist
For starters, the showcase finally presented a proper introduction of Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish. While the title had been subtly teased back in April during the Xbox Partner Preview, Nacon finally delivered a visceral cinematic trailer that sets the stage for a bloody mystery involving a series of gruesome murders.
It basically presents the project as a first-person action-RPG developed by Teyon, the same studio that proved its prowess with the critically acclaimed RoboCop: Rogue City, and invites players to hunt down evil beings across an open and immersive (their words, not mine) reimagining of New York City.
Following the trailer, game director Piotr Latocha revealed that the project features deep character customization and a core hook of being a “mere” human facing off against overwhelming supernatural forces. So, in order to survive, you’ll need to master both intense gunplay and investigative mechanics to track your targets through the city's shadows.
You’ve likely stumbled across its influence before – most notably in the cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade.
But the surprises didn't stop there! Nacon also announced that the World of Darkness is expanding even further with a brand-new spin-off titled Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Rageborn. Developed by the Montreal-based studio Crea-ture, this title takes a sharp turn into the genre of top-down Metroidvanias: instead of only having power-ups to progress, you’ll also need to shapeshift – quite literally.
That’s because the game is based on the classic Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition and features a protagonist that can shape-shift into a regular wolf and a werewolf. So yes, this means you basically play as three different characters and have to swap between them on the fly to solve environmental puzzles, reach new areas, and overcome combat challenges.
Also, the game announcement is just gameplay footage narrated by its creative director, Louis Lamarche, and he promises a classic action-adventure feel where this protagonist’s shapeshifting abilities are the heart of the experience.
Both Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish and Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Rageborn are currently set to launch in 2027 for PC and consoles. It looks like it's going to be a long, dark road ahead for the franchise, but for fans of gothic horror, the wait will definitely be worth it!
