Running a hotel isn't an easy business--now imagine working at one all day and then going home to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to do more hotel-related chores to unwind. That's exactly what one real-world hotel receptionist has been doing over the last week.
Animal Crossing is a creative outlet that mirrors the precision and thoughtfulness of her real-world job for Reddit user jadelilymoon, who has also shared many of her designs in r/AnimalCrossing and received acclaim from other players. By day, they works the front desk at a small boutique hotel tucked into the charming old town of Zurich, Switzerland. By night, they meticulously designs spaces in Animal Crossing, applying lessons learned from real-world hospitality to virtual rooms.
"I work front-desk, so I’m closely involved with the guest experience day to day," jadelilymoon tells GameSpot via message. "Checking guests in and out, answering questions, handling requests, and generally making sure people feel comfortable and at ease during their stay. With the early shift, I’m responsible for breakfast too, but at the moment it’s more late shifts. I don’t come from a hospitality background, but it’s the best job I’ve had so far."
