Tomodachi Life is a cult classic Nintendo DS game that took the world by storm.
Its gameplay is somewhat similar to Animal Crossing, primarily being a life simulator, but instead of a villager in a town with animal neighbors, it's all about Miis. You remember those, right? Because of this, many have viewed Tomodachi Life as less of an Animal Crossing clone and more of Nintendo's version of The Sims.

Cozy games don't always have to be indie titles — in fact, these AAA games are the equivalent of a warm blanket on a cold winter's day.
With the amount of tinkering you can do with every Mii, including watching some fall in love and interact with each other, it resulted in several popular memes back in the day. As a result, many have been desperately hoping for a new entry in the Tomodachi Life franchise.
After its long-awaited reveal during a recent Nintendo Direct, we finally have a release date. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream launches for Nintendo Switch on April 16th. It will also be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
Based on today's Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Direct, Nintendo looks to have done a fantastic job of retaining the look, feel, and magic of Tomodachi Life while also introducing some highly requested features. Let's do a quick recap of today's showcase.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Lets You Customize Miis, Your Island, and More
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream begins similarly to Animal Crossing. You'll create your Mii character, including the ability to choose from male, female, or non-binary, or import one from your Nintendo Switch system, and make your way onto an island that is, well, barren at first. Don't worry, it'll be populated with citizens and shops in no time.
Even though Miis may know each other in the real world, as in the example of you and one of your friends' Miis, the Miis in-game will need to become acquainted. Once they officially meet, they'll begin interacting on their own. You'll also be able to have Miis interact with each other. During the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Direct, we saw an example of two Miis talking about monster trucks, which kick-started their friendship. There's even the chance of the two Miis falling in love.
