Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Reveals Release Date for Next Year

When Nihon Falcom said it didn't want players to wait too long to play the remake of Trails in the Sky SC, it wasn't kidding around.

The developer has just announced that the remake of the second game, titled Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, will launch in fall 2026 for Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, almost in the same window as Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter this year.

During the original releases, fans had to wait two whole years to see the continuation of Estelle's story, which ended on a particularly sneaky cliffhanger.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Review

Falcom just gave you the perfect opportunity to start your journey into the Trails series.

Falcom promised it would move faster this time and wouldn't leave fans hanging for so long, and it seems to be keeping that promise, since Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is potentially set to launch a little over a year's gap after the release of the 1st Chapter.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Launches Fall 2026

To preserve the experience for those who haven't played the first game, I won't give the full synopsis of the 2nd Chapter because it is quite spoilery, but know that we will continue in the role of the bracer Estelle Bright as she travels across Liberl to face the new threat introduced in the final minutes of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.

According to the released screenshots, we can expect the same battle system that blends action and turn-based commands, new party members, and the introduction of an iconic group of villains spanning all future entries in the Trails series.

If Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter offers comparable additions to the original, expect more Quartz, skills, interactive side quests, and greater freedom to explore the kingdom of Liberl.

On Steam, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will support Japanese, English, German, French, and Spanish, while consoles will support the same languages except Japanese. All platforms will feature audio options in both Japanese and English.

Additionally, although this hasn't yet been officially announced, players who have save data from Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on their platform of choice may receive some bonus items in the 2nd Chapter, just like in the original.
